"Wow, lots of mixed reviews here. We haven't noticed any smell, but we haven't had it cleaned yet. It did make lots of crinkly noises when we got it but it has calmed down. We have heavier blankets that don't keep us as warm as this thing does. It seems very light, but keeps us very warm. I enjoy it because it doesn't make my feet feel like they're being crushed, and the warmth is almost instant after crawling underneath. "
